  • Material characteristics:

    The ternary precursor material, that is, nickel-cobalt-manganese hydroxide, the chemical formula is NixCoyMnz(OH)2 ternary composite positive electrode material precursor, which uses nickel salt, cobalt salt, and manganese salt as raw materials, and the ratio of nickel-cobalt-manganese (x:y:z) can be adjusted according to actual needs.

    The ternary material is lithium nickel cobalt manganate Li(NiCoMn)O2, which is suitable for automotive power batteries and lithium ion secondary batteries.

    Spherical nickel hydroxide (ball nickel) is the core material for the manufacture of high-efficiency and large-capacity nickel-metal hydride batteries. The quality of ball nickel determines the quality of the nickel-metal hydride batteries produced. Without good ball nickel, there is no good nickel-metal hydride battery. Drying is an important factor affecting the quality of nickel ball.

    The ternary material and the precursor are loose powder, but the fluidity is not good. According to the production process, the ratio and the particle size are different, the water content before drying is generally about 10% ~ 20%, and the water content of the product after drying is about 0.2.

    Before drying, spherical nickel hydroxide (ball nickel) is loose powder and small block, with poor fluidity and blue-green color. According to different production materials and processes, the free water content before drying is 10% ~ 15%, and the product after drying is required to contain 0.5-1.0 free water content.

    Special drying process:

    The drying of ternary materials and precursors and spherical nickel hydroxide (spherical nickel) has the following characteristics and requirements: the materials are loose, but the fluidity is not poor; It is required that the energy consumption is low, the materials are evenly heated, the operating environment is good, and the index requirements are met at one time. Strict requirements for new magnetic substances in the drying process (generally <30ppb); The materials are fine and dust collection is difficult.

    However, the traditional hot air drying and the emerging microwave drying and far infrared drying have their own shortcomings rather than the ideal choice for ternary materials and precursors and spherical nickel hydroxide (spherical nickel) drying. For example, hot air drying has the disadvantages of high energy consumption (thermal efficiency is only 30%-40%), poor operating environment (large dust), etc, microwave drying has the disadvantages of large equipment investment, uneven material drying and difficult to meet the index requirements, "hot spot" and "thermal runaway" phenomenon in the heating process, easy damage to components, etc. Far infrared drying has the disadvantages of complex structure and difficult heating and high energy consumption.

    The ternary material (ternary material precursor or spherical nickel hydroxide (spherical nickel)) wet material transported from the previous process is continuously and quantitatively added into the energy-saving and environment-friendly disc continuous dryer by the quantitative feeder for drying operation. The material completes the heat and mass transfer process in the flow process to achieve the purpose of drying. After the dry material is cooled in the dryer to reach the packaging temperature (usually at 50 ℃), it is discharged from the discharge port at the bottom into the packaging equipment for packaging, and the tail gas escaping from the material is discharged from the wet discharge port at the top of the dryer after dust removal.

    Process characteristics:

    Continuous operation, high thermal efficiency. Since the energy-saving and environment-friendly disc continuous dryer is dried by conduction and heat transfer, air (or a very small amount of air) is not passed into the dryer during the drying process, and its tail gas carrying capacity is very small, so its thermal efficiency can reach more than 85%;

    ② Less material loss and good operating environment. In the energy-saving and environment-friendly disc continuous dryer for drying ternary materials, precursor and ball nickel, the material dust is difficult to float to the top of the equipment and is rarely carried away by the exhaust gas because the material goes in and out from the top, the material distribution is wet and dry, and the flow rate of the drying exhaust gas is extremely low (about 0.1 m/s), which not only does not lose the material, but also does not pollute the environment, thus meeting the requirements of environmental protection; the entire drying system is airtight, and the exhaust gas adopts a specially designed dust collector, which can recover more than 99.9% of the dust;

    The adjustable equipment, material drying uniform adjustable. The effect of material drying can be conveniently adjusted by adjusting the speed of the equipment, adjusting the thickness of the material layer, the flow rate of the heat source, the temperature of the heat source, the number of rake arms, the form, size and angle of rake leaves, the amount of material added and the number of drying trays in the dryer;

    The heat source is flexible to use. According to the different conditions of the use of on-site heat source supply, steam or heat transfer oil (electric heating or natural gas heating or coal heating or gas heating) can be used as heat source;

    ⑨ For the small particles in the wet material, the special crushing device is added to the appropriate position inside the dryer, so that the small particles are crushed into powder, which can strengthen the heat transfer and drying process and ensure the uniformity of the dry material;

    ⑩ Easy installation, small footprint. The dryer is delivered as a whole and transported as a whole. It only needs to be hoisted in place, and the installation and positioning are very easy. Due to the layer-by-layer arrangement and vertical installation of the drying tray, even the drying area is large and the floor area is small.
